The 5th Balkans & Black Sea Forum 2024 was held amidst the recent disruptions in global transports, shipping, and supply chains due to the spiraling conflict in the Middle East region.
The 5th Balkans & Black Sea Forum highlighted “Trading Arteries & Global Supply Chains at Stake”, was held in collaboration with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and hosted by the Piraeus Port Authority.
Diplomats, experts, policymakers, heads of international organizations, and business executives discussed and delved upon the means to address the serious challenges that burden the supply chains and the globalized economies.

Tensions simmer between Russia and member states at Black Sea Cooperation forum
The 46th meeting of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation organisation has opened in Romanian capital Bucharest. Among the12 members attending are Russia and Turkey.
Diplomats had expressed hopes ahead of the summit that it could offer a chance for Ankara and Moscow to re-build ties. The two have seen relations fall dramatically since Turkey shot down a Russian jet near the Turkish-Syrian border last month. In spite of such conflicts, the host of the meeting attempted to strike a positive note.
